My Paradise

A few months ago my daughter and I went to Maui (the magic island), Hawai'i for a short vacation. It was her first time to the island, my fifth. I love island life, so relaxing and friendly. The first day we drove around with the top down allowing the cool island breeze to flow through our hair while the local island music played on the radio. Nothing like getting out of the car after a two hour drive and discover seat belt tan...I forgot how powerful the sun is on the island. Calli and I were both sunburned, but it was well worth it.

We stayed in Lahaina at the Lahaina Shores Beach Resort close to where the locals live. We were able to walk anywhere we wanted and find good eats, drinks (ok, only me), and entertainment. Calli really enjoyed her visit to the island and even learned to surf. Our favorite thing to do was to just walk up and down the streets looking for cool things to do. We even located a Buddhist temple than walked over to the famous Banyan Tree to get some rest.

If you wanna hang loose with locals, my suggestion is to visit Maui and stay near Lahaina or Kihei. If you want to have some privacy then venture out to Hana or Ka'anapali. Some helpful links, http://maui.aloha-hawaii.com/, http://visitmaui.com/.
