Are you addicted to the Internet?
Letterman's Top 10 Signs You're Addicted To The Net
Once you've overcome your addiction, come back and read the following. If you laugh while reading this, it's probably because you've been cured!
10. You wake up at 3 a.m. to go to the bathroom and stop and check your e-mail on the way back to bed.
9. You get a tattoo that reads, "This body best viewed with Netscape Navigator 1.1 or higher."
8. You name your children Eudora, Mozilla and Dotcom.
7. You turn off your modem and get this awful empty feeling, like you just pulled the plug on a loved one.
6. You spend half of the plane trip with your laptop on your lap... and your child in the overhead compartment.
5. You decide to stay in college for an additional year or two, just for the free Internet access.
4. You laugh at people with 2400-baud modems.
3. You start using smileys in your snail mail.
2. The last mate you picked up was a JPEG.
1. Your hard drive crashes. You haven't logged in for two hours. You start to twitch. You pick up the phone and manually dial your ISP's access number. You try to hum to communicate with the modem...

Ball and Chain
The whirling of the guitar and the beating of the drums would make any person appreciate the musical talent of Janis Joplin. I wish I grew up in the era of Janis Joplin..."sitting down by my window....looking at the raaaiiiinnn...". Her voice just rattles every bone in my body..."please don't you let me down...". There's nothing like this kind of music today, this is true rock, true music.
I recently saw a video of her performance of Summertime and man, I just wanted to cry it was so moving. "...if you have a cat for one day...you have them for one day, man. That one day better be your life, man...if you have it today, you don't wear it tomorrow...tomorrow never happens...". Too bad she passed away so young, imagine what she could have accomplished had she lived her life to the fullest. Just imagine... |

What's a girl to do...and Google SMS stuff
So I finally get some time alone and I have nothing better to do but sit here at my computer and blog. Damn, I'm a total geek. Well, at least I'm entertaining myself without getting into too much trouble...I could be out at a bar with friends, but nah, just listening to some groovy music and typing away.
I did check out some cool google feature, SMS . Seems pretty cool and is much better than trying to browse on my cell phone anyway. You can submit queries via text message and get responses based on your submission. Give it a try or read the latest publishing on this awesome release (Internet Week). Or if you don't like the wait for the response, which is a little less than a minute, just freakin' dial 411 on your phone. But, I'd rather be geeky and use SMS.

Smiling Lotus
After an exhaustive internet search on lotus flowers, I finally found one that I liked...the smiling lotus, or 'Han Xiao Lian'. I must acknowledge the talented tattoo artist at Flesh Skin Grafix, http://www.fleshskingrafix.com for creating such a RAD and realistic looking lotus.
The Buddhist Lotus Sutra speaks of the pure white lotus rising from the waters of a muddy pond. "This analogy illustrates the attainment of a pure and empowered state of life in the midst of the sometimes degrading realities of human society. In this way, the bodhisattva never tries to escape from reality, never leaves suffering people unsaved and plunges into the turbulent waters of life in the effort to help each person drowning in suffering onto the great vessel of happiness”. (May 1998 Living Buddhism, p. 32).
